Choosing a Bidet: Floor-Standing Basics & Matching Sets

What importers settle before a floor-standing ceramic bidet ships — the plumbing it needs, the pairing with the WC, and the terms that apply to the range.

First, what this fixture is and is not

A bidet in a ceramic catalogue is a separate pedestal fixture — its own body, its own faucet, its own waste — installed beside the WC. It is not the wash function built into a smart toilet, and it is not a seat that replaces an existing WC seat. Buyers who conflate the three end up specifying the wrong thing, so it is worth fixing the vocabulary before the quotation.

Where the fixture is standard — Italy, Spain, Portugal, France, much of Latin America and the Middle East — it is planned into the bathroom alongside the WC and the basin, and the plumbing is roughed in for three fixtures rather than two. Where it is not standard, it sells as an upgrade and the buyer is usually refurbishing rather than building.

Floor-standing is the simpler installation of the two

Our bidets — models 1303, 1380 and 1381 — are floor-standing single-piece vitreous china with a deck-mounted chrome single-lever faucet. There is no in-wall frame and no concealed cistern, so the ceramic carries its own weight and the installation does not depend on the wall structure the way a wall-hung WC does. What it does need is a properly planned supply and a waste outlet in the right position.

What to rough in before the floor is finished

  • A waste outlet at the bidet position, separate from the WC — the fixture is a second, independent drain
  • Hot and cold supply at deck height for the mixer faucet
  • A finished wall face for the body to sit against, tiled before installation rather than after
  • The correct waste arrangement for the model — confirm floor or wall outlet against the technical drawing before the plumbing is fixed in place

That last point is where importers lose time. The technical drawing for each model states the arrangement, and ours are free to download and print. Check the drawing against the plumbing layout before the screed goes down and the question disappears entirely.

Matching the bidet to the WC

Importers selling into markets where the bidet is standard usually sell it as a set, and the first question they ask is whether the two pieces will match. Profile and clearance are what actually vary between models, so settle those against the drawings and pick the WC and the bidet from the same shape language if the set will be displayed together.

  • Confirm clearance between the two fixtures against the drawings — a deep bowl changes the layout
  • Settle fixing centres at the same time, so the plumber is not improvising on site
  • Tell us the WC model you already sell and we will confirm which of the three bidets reads as its partner

The faucet deserves a decision of its own

The bidet ships with a deck-mounted chrome single-lever faucet. Some importers keep it; others plan to fit their own branded fittings. Whichever way you intend to go, settle it in the brief. If you plan to supply your own faucet, say so at quotation stage rather than after the order is confirmed, and we will confirm how the model is supplied.

Terms that apply to the range

These bidets are white-glaze catalogue models, which means MOQ 0 — a trial quantity of a handful of sets carries the same unit price basis as a full container order, and the bidet can be mixed with WCs and other models in the same order. Coloured and matte glazes are MOQ 30 per model. Samples are free of charge, with freight the only cost we discuss, priced per destination.

Lead time is 30 days standard and 30–40 days for custom or sample orders. Payment is by T/T or L/C at sight, FOB Shenzhen with standard export packing. The ceramic body carries a lifetime warranty; fittings and parts are covered for five years.

We build in Chaozhou — 51,000 m² with 285 people and one 130 m tunnel kiln firing 1,300 sets a day across 25–28 working days a month, planned on ten production months a year.

Start from the drawing

Download the drawing for the model you are considering, check it against the plumbing layout, and send us the model, your market and the quantity. We will confirm the waste arrangement and the certification position for that market before you commit to samples.
